Tim Allen

Tim Allen has a long and distinguished career in dance that began at the young age of nine, with training in Tap, Jazz, and Ballet. Winning the title of Jr. Mr. Dance in 1981 marked the beginning of his illustrious journey. In 1991, Tim transitioned into the realm of ballroom dance and has since excelled professionally in the American Smooth division. Holding certifications in both American and International styles of dance, he has demonstrated unparalleled expertise and dedication to the art.

One of Tim's students achieved 2nd place in the Theater Arts division of the United States Championships, a testament to his exceptional coaching. His influence extended to the University of Connecticut, where he coached the ballroom team for several years, leading them to numerous successes in collegiate competitions. Many of his former students continue to dance and have even introduced their own children to the world of dance, underscoring the lasting impact of his mentorship.

Known fondly as the "technique monster," Tim is renowned for his meticulous approach to teaching. He breaks down every element of a dance pattern, not just focusing on the steps but on the essence of truly dancing them. This philosophy has cultivated many accomplished dancers.

Currently, Tim is dedicated to furthering his own education and preparing to become a National Judge and Adjudicator. Alongside his wife Julie, also a dance instructor, Tim is now nurturing a new dance community in Citrus County, Florida. They offer private lessons, group classes, and social dancing, fostering a vibrant and growing dance culture.
